Born in 1989, Federica Biasi graduated with honors from the European Institute of Design of Milan in 2011. Following some professional experiences in Italy, she moves to The Netherlands for 2 years. In Amsterdam she explores nordic design, learns to identify emerging trends and develops her own style. Focusing on formal simplicity: soft, graceful and detailed, with an always clean aesthetic approach. In 2015 she comes back to Milan where she sets up Federica Biasi Studio.
Anticipating international trends is essential to Federica. Whether it is a matter of colors, materials or finishes, she is always drawn to functionality and shapes. Her goal is to reach the right balance between her personal touch and her clients’ know-how. Art Director and Product Designer, she works with Italian design and furniture brands (cc-tapis, Coin Casa, Lema, Gallotti&Radice, Fratelli Guzzini, Manerba, Mingardo, Nason Moretti, Potocco) as well as with international companies (Nespresso, Fest Amsterdam, Imetec, Pode).
Her glaze is curious and outgoing. While paying attention to sometimes forgotten artisanal stories, cinematographic and photographic projects, the Milanese designer gets inspired by nature and travels all over the world. Combining manual work and tradition in order to reach innovative solutions, almost imperceptible to the consumer, imagining every detail to come up with an efficient and functional product, building a tight-knit relationship with her professional partners…Starting from these solid principles Federica creates harmonious ideas with her team, companies, suppliers and factories. This is how her projects come to life.
Federica is a strong supporter of team work and proud of sharing her knowledge throughout talks for the design universe insiders. From 2016 she teaches CMF (Colors Materials and Finishes) classes to Product Design students at IED and Istituto Marangoni in Milan. Appointed by master Andrea Branzi, in 2018 she was awarded as one of the 6 Italian Rising Talents at Maison & Objet fair in Paris.
