LaCividina conceives and makes collections of designer armchairs and sofas that epitomize the most authentic, quintessential qualities associated with the “Made in Italy” label.
LaCividina has been manufacturing products with ingenuity and originality for almost half a century. The invaluable properties of Italian manual culture live on in its workmanship. Outstanding organization and management ensure that its attention to detail is combined with the ability to compete on a global scale.
Every collection of sofas and armchairs stems from constant dialogue with designers all over the world. This has helped to make LaCividina a partner in significant interior living projects in a variety of public and private settings.
Unadulterated aesthetics, high-quality materials, perfect workmanship and exceptional organization: LaCividina fuses comfort and appealing designs, while keeping Italian manual culture alive.
If we had to tell our story using a timeline, it would start in 1976, when Carlo Bulfoni – who already had more than 20 years of experience in the world of upholstered furniture – decided to open a workshop in Martignacco (in the province of Udine) and call it LaCividina.
Prototype makers, model makers, tailors, joiners and upholsterers are just some of the 9 professional figures involved in the production of every item.
All of our manufacturing processes take place within a 50 km radius, which encompasses a production district that is renowned for its outstanding upholstered furniture.
LaCividina complies with ISO 9001-Quality management system certification. The standards provide guidance and tools for companies who want to ensure that their products and services consistently meet customer’s requirements, and that quality is continuously improved. The standard is based on a number of quality management principles, including a strong customer focus, employee motivation and involvement, a process approach and continuous improvement.
Furthermore, LaCividina is the first upholstered furniture company in Italy to obtain the “Italian furniture origin” mark, verified and certified by Catas, the leading European testing laboratory in the wood-furnishing sector.
The production of upholstered furniture is subject to periodic checks carried out by qualified inspectors, both on site and in third-party laboratories.
The Italian origin and final manufacture of the product are verified and certified in accordance with UNI 11674, the national standard that defines the requirements for determining the Italian origin of furniture.
The safety, resistance and durability of the product are checked and certified in accordance with UNI EN 16139, the reference standard in Europe that defines the technical requirements for seating.
For over forty years, LaCividina has been proud to contribute to the enhancement of Italian manufacturing culture, a perfect synthesis of quality, technical expertise and fine workmanship.
